Hi Literature Students,
You have been reading the folktale, "Weaving of a Dream". Yesterday we talked about how folktales are stories that are told many times over, and often change from the way one person tells it to another. Folktales also have fantasy elements in them which make them a type of FICTION. Your job is to write a short paragraph describing how you know that "Weaving of a Dream" is FICTION. Use at least three examples from the text.
You need to write a four-sentence paragraph that includes a topic sentence and your three examples.
I am looking forward to finding out the details you noted in this text to determine that it was a piece of fiction.
:)

Dear Mrs.S,
ReplyDeleteThese are the four things that could not happen in real life.
1)There could not be fairies in real life.
2)The brocade could not come to life.
3)Leje had to knock out his front teeth so the horse could eat.
4)Leje married a fairy.
These are why I wrote these four things down.

Mariah
Dear Mrs. S,
ReplyDelete“The Weaving of a Dream” is a fiction story and this is why.“The Weaving of a Dream” is a fictional book because no one can weave and make what they wove come to life. Also,no one can die over a place it's impossible.Another,is that a stone horse can't eat teeth or barries or fly. Finally, there is no such thing of faries their not real all this is fantasy.

Dear Mrs,S
ReplyDelete“Weaving Of A Dream”is a fiction book. There are fairys that are not true wich it would be fiction. The pictures can not turn to life. Pluse you can't even stay alive in the fire because you would die. That is my three reasones from the book “Weaving Of A Dream”.

Madison
Dear Madison, Xavier, and Mariah,
ReplyDeleteYou all make wonderful points about why "Weaving of a Dream" is fiction. Folk tales usually are chock full of fantastic details that we just can't believe...they are quite enjoyable to read, though, I think!
Bye!

Dear Mariah,
ReplyDeleteI like the way you wrote your 4 reasons of why “The Weaving of a Dream” is a fictional story.I felt like i was reading things that I didn't see in the text of the story.I think you'd be a wonderful writer for different genres.
Your friend,
Xavier
Dear Mrs.Springston,
ReplyDeleteThere are three reasons Weaving of a Dream is fiction. First, everyone knows a stone horse can not come back to life. Next, you can not take two teeth from a horse.
Finally, fairies are not real and never will be .So here are some of the reasons Weaving of a Dream is fiction.

Dear Mrs.S,
ReplyDeleteThere are many reasons why Weaving Of A Dream is fiction. The first reason is that fairies are not real. Second, a picture can't come alive. Last, you can't stay alive going through fire. That's my three reasons why Weaving of a Dream is fiction.

Dear Mrs. Springston,
ReplyDeleteThis is why I think that Weaving of a Dream is fiction:
1)First, Leje had to knock his teeth out to give them to the horse and that is fake.
2)Next, there where faries can not be in real life because our wold is not a fariytale or a fariyland.
3)The brocade could not come to life.
4)And last,Leje married a fariy. but we all know that would not happen in less you are in a dream. And that is what is know from Weaving of a Dream.
